Haha! It was never really part of my plan either, to be honest - if you met me you'd realise I'm a man who loves his creature comforts! But sometimes adversity - whether self-imposed or not - can teach us that we're better off with a lot less than we previously had, even if it involves a bit of hard graft. As for modern medicine, I'm all for it most of the time, but it's not always used the right way, or even necessary in some cases. Sometimes its aim is to treat things which are merely symptoms of modern life, when the easiest thing to do is change your life (though not necessarily in such a radical way!). I like your idea of modern medicine becoming more old-fashioned!
